BIC Design provides knowledge and design capacity on custom chips (ASIC) or programmable chips (FPGA), systems on chip (SoC) or multi-chip solutions. Furthermore we design, implement or modify EDA software, design scripts and flows. Currently we specialize in the following fields.
Ultra low power FPGA design
In cooperation with SiliconBlueTechnologies, we are currently doing a benchmark project on the SiliconBlue / Magma design software for FPGA. We're setting up a rapid prototyping environment for SBT FPGA based ultra low power (handheld) applications.
The setup is based on the development platform for the iCE65 programmable logic family. It can be extended with any desired peripherals like all sorts of sensors and IO devices. It enables us to demonstrate this 65nm family and very quickly implement your specific application to demonstrate, prototype, test or evaluate.
Heterogeneous multi-core design
In cooperation with Compaan Design BV we contribute to the development of the hardware backend of the Compaan design flow for heterogeneous multi-core designs. We're building a demonstrator based on a Xilinx development board with Virtex FPGA.
This setup reads video from the VDEC1 extension, processes it in a Compaan network of processors, connected by FIFO's, and displays results on an external monitor through the SVGA output of the board. With this setup we can quickly evaluate and demonstrate if your streaming data application fits in the automated Compaan design flow.
